AHC: Ugandan victory in Ugandan-Tanzanian war

With a POD no earlier than 1972, your challenge is to have Uganda get a sound victory over the Tanzanians. Bonus points if the various purges that Idi Amin did still happen and he is still in power at the end of the war.

The Ugandan army didn't actually fight they just looted and fled. all the fighting on the ugandan side was done by the contingent of libyan troops sent by Qadhaffi, so either make Qaddaffi able to send more troops or have another country send troops to aid Idi Amin.

Yes, that's the funny thing. Still, do you think that a country would want to send more troops? I mean, which countries actually supported him besides Gaddafi?

According to Wikipedia there was East German involvement with Idi Amin's regime, perhaps you could have East German troops disguised as Libyans fighting in Uganda.

I think that if it happened it would have disastrous consequences, NATO would probably see it as a communist plot to conquer East Africa.

Would a small amount of East German troops be enough to tip the scales, though?
