AHC: Two Germanys

Wait, it has to be led by Bavaria? In the 1860's - 1870's? Difficult.

Hrm. Perhaps a worse 1848 revolution could wreck Austria, causing a couple countries to slip off - or maybe just Hungary and Galicia. We could then perhaps see Bavaria form some sort of union with Wurttemberg and Baden, which would then proceed to slowly incorporate this Austria-Without-A-Hungary.

Not likely, of course. I'm just idly speculating.

And protected by France?
You might underestimate history a bit?
Anyone back then looking at the ruins of the Heidelberg castle for example (destroyed by the armies of Louis XIV, the Sun King) will be reminded of that. Followed of course by Napoleon.
Baden (border with France) certainly won´t trust France, followed by Württemberg. Especially with a guy called Napoleon III as Emperor of France (since 1852). Given that it was known that he would have liked to move French borders east.
However Bavaria had historically been allied to France (against Austria) in more than one war...
