AHC: Truman 1952

With a divergence no earlier than the day following the death of FDR, have President Harry Truman win both the 1948 and 1952 Presidential elections. Given the depths of his unpopularity, along with incumbent fatigue, this may be difficult bordering on impossible. But I would be interested if anyone has a way of pulling this off without this thread being consigned to another subforum.

What about fewer post-war strikes? Truman might be able to keep control of Congress in 1946, which enables him to pass more of his agenda (national health insurance?) and avoid Taft-Hartley. This might make 1948 much easier for Truman.

1952 probably requires no Korea, or a different Korea, but fewer post-war strikes might help domestic matters quite a bit.

Another option is for China to avoid intervening in Korea, which would have likely led to a rather speedy US victory and the war likely being over by 1952. Truman would have successfully repelled Communism twice (Berlin Airlift, Korea) and the New Deal coalition was still dominant electorally, meaning a 3rd Truman term in 1952 would look pretty good and Ike would probably retire to Gettysburg in 1952. The GOP probably goes with Taft and old Bob gets thumped by the guy who's stopped the Commies dead in their tracks twice and finished off the task of defeating Japan by dropping the bomb.
