AHC: Total Korean reunification by North Korea

With a POD after 1948, Have the DPRK consist of Korea, Gando (A disputed territory between China and Korea), and Priamurye. Somewhat like a greater Korea.

Dewey wins, and doesn't intervene. Or is too late. Cultural Revolution leads to unstable China which starts WWIII.
Avoiding WWIII is easy if you don't care about Outer Manchuria though.

North Korean troops successfully break the Pusan Perimeter. Inchon landing then proves to be a failure. War ends with communist control of the entire peninsula.

Later on, the Sino-Soviet border war breaks out into something a lot bigger, and Korea sides with Moscow. Korean troops successfully push into and seize Gando while the main PLA forces are engaged with Soviet troops further north. The war ends a few months later with the line of control becoming the new state borders.

I don't see a way for Korea to take control of Outer Manchuria. Any attempts are likely to be repulsed, and if Korea does take the upper hand, a lot of their peninsula would soon glow in the dark.

Probably they'll get Outer Manchuria after the USSR dissolves?

Any territory outside the Korean peninsula save for Yanji really is ASB. The population of the shaded territory outside of the Korean Peninsula totals 90 million (i.e. more than Korea itself), has never been densely settled by any Koreans, and ethnic Koreans comprise hardly any of the current population. The majority of Greater Korea's population will be Chinese, which the Kims definitely won't like.

Gando (a now disused name for a small piece marshland) is not disputed by either North or South Korea.

In short the map is just an ultra-nationalist wet dream.

Dewey was an internationalist by that point, and, IIRC, more focused on Asia then Truman was. I think Dewey would intervene as well.

He certainly would have; this is a man who wanted a Marshall Plan for Asia, and an Asian Nato as well. Although never a member of the "China Lobby" he always felt that one of the greatest failures of the Democrats was their focus on Europe at the expense of Asia. Also, his writings after 1948 were partially responsible for the "Domino Theory".
In other words, he'd be even more likely to intervene than Truman (although I doubt he'd do too much better, considering the state of the US Army at that point, as it went through demobalization)
