The idea of a constitutional monarchy for the U.S. was actually considered. During some of the phases that led to the convention, the idea of a monarchy was discussed where a Prussian monarch would rule as a constitutional monarch. What is the best POD after 1776 that would get this? Bonus points if a different monarch is chose.
Note:this monarch cannot rule as an absolute monarch like France or Austria

The best chance the US has of establishing a Constitutional Monarchy would be while drafting the Constitution. Serious consideration was given to naming George Washington king. One of the main reasons it didn't happen was Washington didn't want a crown. The feeling being that the nation had just fought a war to get rid of a king, so it would be very foolish of them to immediately name another. It Washington doesn't discourage it, we could very easily see a United Kingdom of the Americas.

Wasn't there the idea to give the crown of America to some German noble, or do I confuse with a TL?
(There we go, this board began to slip onto my perception of reality)
