AHC: The North Welsh (Britons) survive

Your challenge if you wish to accept it is to create a plausible scenario in which the North Britons to survive as a strong polity beyond the early medieval period (1000AD/1100AD)

No POD is allowed before the Battle of Chester 615/16 AD...

Furthermore, while the Kingdom of Strathclyde did survive beyond the year 1000 AD, it did not survive fully into the High Middle Ages nor leave much cultural remnants behind.

Difficult to do.
Part of the problem is the constant divisions of the kingdoms which allowed the Angles to slowly encroach and takeover

A change to single heir inheritance is the only change that could make a difference and stronger holdings.

Certainly it is a hard challenge.

Perhaps if the Britons won a few more battles against the Anglo-Saxons that might give them more time to consolidate.

Perhaps victory at the Battle of Chester? Is there any other major battles in the time period?

Cefn Digoll, Hatfield Chase and Heavenfield in the early 630s. Caer Greu and the Siege of Lindisfarne were major battles, but they came before Chester. The POD makes this challenge difficult.

Victory at Chester then. Have the Northumbrians massacred and the Mercians badly weakened in the process.
