AHC: The Last Airbender significantly better

I've heard that there was a lot of executive meddling done behind Shamalon's back. (exp. The girl playing Katara was the daughter of some rich guy). I would take that out and see what happens.

Then have the movies go into as much detail as possible, without going making it a 14 hour movie.
well let's take a look at each season and think about what could be excluded for pacing. from my memory and using an episode list for reference:
-- The King of Omashu: while Bumi is awesome, i don't think he contributes enough to the story to warrant being in a film adaptation. parts of this episode could be combined with the second season episode featuring him to explain that he can't help Aang, but that'd probably be about it
-- Imprisoned: another one that's kinda unimportant to the larger plot, except for Haru reappearing and establishing that metalbending isn't a thing yet
-- Winter Solstice: exclude Hei Bai and Iroh being captured by earthbenders, and maybe transfer the events elsewhere such that Aang still learns about Sozin's Comet but isn't sidetracked to the Fire Temple
-- The Waterbending Scroll: probably exclude this; it adds to both Aang and Katara's waterbending, but not much else
-- Jet: keep this one since Jet is more important than most of the other side characters and would play a role in the next movie
-- The Great Divide: need i say more?
-- The Storm: explain Aang and Zuko's backstories throughout the trilogy where it would be relevant, but leave out this particular episode
-- The Blue Spirit: probably have references throughout that Zuko is the Blue Spirit, but leave out the rest, except maybe an appearance by the Yuu Yan Archers where they weren't in the original series
-- The Fortuneteller: probably exclude this one
-- Bato of the Water Tribe: probably another exclusion
-- The Deserter: Jeong-jeong may be important enough for Aang's character development, showing that Katara has healing powers, and (going off what i mentioned before) showing that master firebenders can create fire rather than just manipulate it
-- The Northern Air Temple: probably abbreviated but included to justify the Fire Nation's technology
-- The Waterbending Master: probably abbreviated
-- The Siege: since this would be the climax, almost nothing would be excluded

However, according to "the promise" comic, there were Fire+Earth mixed families. And Katara and Sokka despite having darker skin they passed unobserved for quite the time in the Fire Nation. For Aang was sufficient to grow his hair. So, there shouldn't be an issue over ethnicity.

yeah but in the move Dev Patel would find it difficult to hide in Ba Singh Se and movie Katara and Sokka could never hide in Indian Fire Nation

Did you recognize her in Transformers :Age of Extinction ?

That seems about right. One thing though, I would include Bumi, abit abbreviated because he appears during the Siege (if I remember correctly) along with the White Lotus, among other times in the first season. It would explain who he is better than Iroh or someone else in 30 seconds.

The bending needs to be improved. The bending arts are martial arts, combat styles. They need to be quick to deploy.
