Let's assume the
following USA:
-OTL plus Nova Scotia and the 'Province of Quebec' in 1783
-by 1803, the US gets the Louisiana Purchase
-by 1815, the War of 1812 is over and the US/UK agree to the 49th parallel as a border, which skims a bit off the US Great Lakes territory to give some lakefront access for Rupert's Land
-United Empire Loyalists left for the British-gained territory of Patagonia, South Africa, and Australia rather than Canada, so there aren't many people.
-1848: the US wins more Oregon, say the 52° N line, so Rupert's Land doesn't have very good Pacific access.
-1867: the US buys Alaska on time.
Would the British sell Rupert's Land to the US? When would they do so? Or would they still try to populate this land that had almost no semi-warm water ports and in the 19th century, little known resources to exploit?
