AHC: Terra Nova e Labrador - The Portuguese North America

Newfoundland ("Terra Nova" in Portuguese) was claimed by the Portuguese crown after the Tordesillas Treay and then reached by a Portuguese navigator, Joao Alvares Fagundes circa 1520.

The Newfie & Labrador shores were constantly visited by Portuguese sailors and fishermen during the 16th. Century and even temporary Portuguese fishing outposts could have been established onshore.

Apparently, after the intial settlement of the future Brazilian coast as well as per more fortunate prospects with the Indian Trade, the Portuguese simply abandoned the Newfoundland & Labrador fishing banks to concentrate its efforts on the Tropical world.

Your challenge is to develop a continuous Portuguese presence at Newfound & Labrador shores, with such area effectlevy colonized by the Portuguese crown and with a Lusophone influence which could be felt until our days.
