AHC : Technology Advanced As Ridley Scott's Blade Runner & Alien By The 1980s/1990s Or Like Fallout 1,2,3,4

With a POD starting the first of January 1900, you have to make a world where technology is advanced like the 2020s of Ridley Scott Blade Runner and/or Alien or like the Fallout series. Excluding replicants.

You mean robots that are so close to human that, to discover if they're people or machines, you couldn't just prick them to see if they bleed real blood, but have to administer complex eye exams to see how they react to the idea of eating dogs?

Not gonna happen, because robots like that only exist for the purposes of advancing a nifty plot in a sci-fi movie.

Excluding near-human androids.

Putting aside skin jobs (or artificial persons if you want to be all politically correct about it), the main issue is surely going to be getting an FTL ship working so Roy can see his attack ships on fire off the Shoulder of Orion and Weyland-Yutani can set up shop on Acheron...

Video payphones, yes, video payphones. And if we could get more of those clear PVC jackets too. And finally, cats in space, with vacuum rated pet carriers.

When Blade Runner first came out, the trailers highlighted that moving-billboard shot, presumably to show what a wild view of the future the audience was in for.

Funny how those are now considered totally unremarkable.
