AHC: Taoism more widespread?

It *does* hold widespread influence in Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese cultures.

Any TL where China goes to colonize and influence the New World will achieve your goal.

Well Buddhism pretty much started hitting the world in the 1890's on the heels of Hinduism thanks to things like the World's Fair. Didn't increase converts, but it did introduce itself to the wider world outside of India. Pretty much the thing to do would to be, to have somehow it make its way out of China at an earlier time.

That or just have more people read The Tao of Pooh.
