AHC: Switch Jeff Davis and Abe Lincoln Politically.

Inspired by an old TL from Robert Perkins.

The challenge, should you accept it, is to switch these two men's political fates at any time between their birth and say.....no later 1850 or so. Bonus points are awarded if Abe Lincoln is a *moderate* States Rights person & is not particularly gung-ho about preserving slavery and also if Jeff Davis becomes definitively anti-slavery during his time, whether as U.S. President or in some other capacity.

It sounds easy in theory but harder in practice

Instead of heading west like everyone else have Abraham's father move south with the family and have Abe grow up in Alabama instead of Illinois. Growing up with slaves he despises them rather then feel sorry for them.

Davis doesn't join the army but instead after leaving the university in Kentucky goes north to Washington and starts his political career under an abortionist (the only politician to take him on) he stays in Washington and becomes the most famous abortionist of the century cauing a bigger civil war
