AHC: Surviving Mongol-derived Khanate

Challenge: have one of the various Khanates survive to the present day. A constitutional monarchy is acceptable, but there must be a hereditary Khan of the Ghengisid bloodline as the head of state.

I think our two best options are either Crimea or Mongolia itself.

Maybe a central Asian khanate survives Russian expansion.

The Uzbek Khanate was well positioned for long term survival, and they did last into late 18th century. If they resist the Russians a little longer the British Empire would be in a position to support them in the Great Game.

I thought the Uzbek Khanate was ruled by non-Genghisids (Shaybanids IIRC?).

Perhaps the Chagatai? Maybe make the Chagatai more powerful and conquer parts of Uzbekestan (Samarqand) and Afghanistan. Then have the Shun win against the Qing and have the Shun locked in civil war and then of course butterfly Timurids and there it is. When the British come the Chagatai are strengthened. With modern reforms this state could really become a heavy hitter controlling Central Asia.
