AHC:Sucessful US slave revolt

...I had a situation where the threat of a slave rebellion supported by Wellington's Peninsular Army was used to halt the 1812 war in my Greater London to 1813 ASB.

Any successful revolt has outside support whilst the government is distracted by greater concerns. E.g. the rebellious colonists in 1776 and the Irish Free State under De Valera (So I'm pro-Irish, so what? Although I'd prefer Michael Collins - and the Dominion of Ireland).

I'm pro Irish too and I still think de Valera was an ass.

The only way I could see this working is if it happened during The Civil War.

Not even that simply because the slaves don't need to revolt. They only need to run away and join the Union Army or assist them as guides or what not. No reason to wage a war yourself alone and without weapons when the US army can provide a uniform, organization, training, and supplies. Unless you consider the 90,000+ southern blacks who joined the Union army and the 500,000 who ran away and assisted the Union army in other ways to be a slave rebellion (which in essence it was).
