AHC:"States" with each of the Great Lake names"

In OTL, only one of the Great Lakes has a state named after it, Michigan (which borders two of the others. Is it within the realm of possibilities to have a TL where there are states and/or provinces bearing all five names? Note, having a TL where one nation controls the entire borders of the Great Lakes is fine.

Preferred POD after 1760.

There is a province named Ontario already.

If the UP of Michigan was a separate state, Superior would make a fine name for it; that one is the easiest.

Erie could happen if the Northwest Territory was divided differently. Maybe OTL Ohio and Indiana are divided north/south. Erie could be the name for the northern state and Ohio would be the southern state.

Huron is the most difficult. It could happen if OTL Michigan is divided east/west for some reason; but it's difficult to see why that would be done. Alternatively, if Canadian provinces were smaller there might be a Huron province.

Not hard since we have the big city with the name already up there....

Huron is the most difficult.

You can cheat because a state could be named Huron for the Indian tribe rather than the lake, and that gives you a bigger range of possible locations.

Another cheaty one: Illinois technically qualifies because Lake Michigan was also known as Lake Illinois until the late 18th century.

Why not name Wisconsin "Michigan" and Michigan "Huron", then have a Superior state and a Canadian Ontario province. Thus the only Great Lake missing is Eerie, but that could be an alternate name for Ohio (with Indiana then being called Ohio, maybe, since its southern border is the Ohio River).

So overall you don't even need to create new administrative divisions (except Superior), just rename them and shuffle around the names a bit.

The problem is that Ohio was known as the Ohio Country before it became a state.

You could also easily play around with Jefferson's proposed states:
