AHC: Split Belgium in two

Ok, so your challenge is, with a PoD after the Belgian Revolution, to have Belgium divided between France and the Netherlands. Flanders, the Dutch-speaking region, goes to the Netherlands, while Wallonia, the French-speaking region, goes to France. Bonus points if it's done after Napoleon III takes power in France.

Yet another Belgium snuff thread. :D

Dividing Belgium strictly on the language border sounds more like a thing for a PoD after WW2 (admittedly, being partitioned between Netherlands and France is indeed more a 19th century thing).

Check out this plan though.

Seconded. For a partition of Belgium in the 19th century, the Talleyrand-Wellington Plan is the way to go.

how about this
1815 during he Vienna congress, the former Austrian colony is deviated into tow piece
the larges part Flanders is annexed to Kingdom of the Netherlands
the Wallonia goes to grand duchy of Luxembourg, who territory doubled.

The British empire is satisfied, they got tow buffer state between Prussia and France.

later in 1867 Napoleon III purchase grand duchy of Luxembourg.
