The challenge is to have a Spanish colony or multiple Spanish colonies win and maintain their independence from Spain any time between 1550 and 1776. Even more points if they don’t fall under another European power’s sovereignty.

There are actually several ways of making this happen, although most would need a bit of stretching implausibility.

The most plausible would be the Paraguayan Comuneros somewhat exaggerating the revolt in the 1730s, and the Neogranadine Comuneros doing the same by 1781.

Tupac Amaru's revolt is after 1776, but that was the earliest major independence-based movement. That might be the easiest thing to do.

Three different types of scenarios here...

It appears that there are three different types of scenarios,

1) similar to the US War for Independence where all or almost all of the leaders/participants in the rebellion are of European Descent.

2) similar to a more successful Pueblo Revolt where the leaders are of entirely native descent.

3) Functional independence due to supporting the side that *didn't* win the War of the Spanish Secession. This would be particularly likely if the side with the French won the war and the British and/or Americans(?) did what they could to keep the Spanish from regaining their empire.
