With a PoD after 1825, how could we achieve a rapprochement between Mexico and Spain so successful they have a military alliance that commits them to one another's defense against gringo aggression?

What could they achieve together diplomatically and militarily that they could not achieve separately?

If Spain is on Mexico's side during the Texas revolt or Mexican American war, for instance, can the ultimate outcome of either struggle be changed? In a good way, or a bad way for Mexico and Spain?

unlike the Portuguese and Brazil separation with Portuguese royal house and part of its nobility becoming Brazilian the Spanish / New World split was much worse and the only reason Spain did not send army to attempt and reconquer the revolting colonies was the fact that the army revolted on the docks of Cadiz. You will need to change a lot for this POD to happen.
