AHC: Spanish Ireland

The AHC if you choose to accept it is with a POD in 1491, make Ireland a possession of the Kingdom of Spain or a separate portion of the Spanish Empire. What would be the effects of this rule and how would the Irish people adapt to an even more distant rule than that of England? Preferably this lasts to an extent similar to English rule over Ireland.

Also a question, if Spain ruled over Ireland, could we have mass Irish emigration to later Spanish colonies in the New World? Such as the sparsely populated lands of La Plata or to various other Spanish lands that could be conquered in Northern Africa. If the Irish are also integrated, how would they fit within the Spanish hierarchy of skin tones and race?

Additional questions, if Spain can be answered in this regard, is there any other continental nation (France or Portugal?) that could also exert such influence? Also, what would be the effect of these?

Thanks for any responses.

I recently made a thread about an irish victory at the Battle of Kinsale (1601 AD), although i assume that would lead to a spanish-friendly Ireland, rather than a spanish-controlled Ireland.

Yeah, that would be one thing to have a Irish-Spanish alliance. Though, that would not the criteria of Spanish ruled Ireland.

In this and in the Kinsdale thread, what I had in mind was something like having all three of Philip II's sons by Anna of Austria - Ferdinand, Diego and Philip - surviving. Thus, if a Spanish armada is still sent against England and Spain drives English forces out of Ireland, Philip retakes the title King of Ireland, then upon his deathbed, either he or Ferdinand gives it to Diego, while Philip (OTL Philip III) is kept as far from power as possible.
