AHC: South America Dominant

"In short, turn the Inca into Japan earlier."

Absolutely this. I've been reading about the Inca and thinking it is a shame (both what actually happened &) the fact that they seem neglected by AH. One of the habits I've noticed in these forums is the tendency to assume that colonization is the only way for any country to operate once it makes contact with a technologically inferior society. There are many options that the Spaniards (or anyone else) had in-front of them. Rather than attempt to straight up conquer, a deal might be struck. Two rooms full of gold for all the horses and guns you could ever want. We get a port here, you get a port there, and how about we jointly take over Gran Columbia together? Hell, the Spanish could give the Inca "domain" over the South American continent while claiming the north, still managing to enrich themselves. Explain that there is a whole world out there, and the Spanish are the ticket in.

There is also a generally unexplored route to South American domination. If an east Asian country makes contact, could they not "vassalize" whoever they meet, which itself could break free and come to rule the hemisphere? Seems like South America just gets divvied up between whatever powers are being wanked.
