AHC: Russian Federation disintegrates

After the Soviet Union collapsed, there was significant concern that the Russian Federation itself would disintegrate. Russia under Yeltsin was chaotic in the extreme and only when Putin seized power did any threat to Russia's territorial unity was squashed.

So what's the best way for the Russian Federation itself to disintegrate? Bonus points, for no Vlad Tepes TLs.

What's the Vlad Tepes TLs? I could only guess that Brezinski's wishful prediction of Russia breaking up into European Russia, Siberia and Far Eastern Republic does come true.

North Caucasus republics like Chechnya successfully break off and gaining international recognition. After that precedent is set, maybe some other regions follow suit. But other than North Caucasus region, what other prominent secession movements are there in Russian Federation?

Tatarstan threatened but got talked back into sanity. Other North Caucasus republics could be trouble, Ingushetia in particular.

But once a few succeed, everyone else will want to follow. Won't be pretty.
