AHC: Russian Arctic Circle

How can the russian empire extend its territory to form a complete circle around the north pole? From Murmansk east around OTL russian Siberia, across to Alaska, through northern canada, as well as Greenland and Iceland, and also the northern Norwegian coast and Svaldbard back to Murmansk

Bloody easy.

1) At some point in history have russian conquest of Scandinavia, Norway primarily.
2) Don't sell Alaska to anyone.
3) Have Russia win a victory in a war against UK, big enough that would net them entire Canada.

Agreed with 1 and 2, but 3 is practically ASB. What would be better is if you have Canada fall to America either during the revolution or in the War of 1812, which would eventually make Britain pull an OTL Alaska and sell Rupert's Land to either America or Russia, so Russia in this case if they have the money. Russia can then make a claim for Greenland and Iceland and maybe even go to war with Denmark over those territories, netting them the entire Arctic.

Russian conquest of Scandinavia could either be achieved through force or through a dynastic intermarriage. Additionally, I have a thread on the plausibility of an Orthodox Christian Scandinavian state. It could be possible for Slavic influence to reach Scandinavia except for Denmark. Russia keeping Alaska is plain simple, unless of course, they need money and they're desperate to sell anything.

okay, so i'll throw in another component to the challenge: make a rough TL of this occuring with the folowing parameters:

have russia control the arctic circle (meaning all of the territories described above) by 1914 with a pod after either

a) the end of the napoleonic wars
b) the end of the crimean war
c) the end of the US civil war

I'm guessing the a) would be the easiest but maybe i'm wrong

Close. Perhaps more expansion in Alaska after 1741 since Russian America was officially established. A PoD after let's say, 988 would be pointless if Russia is aiming to conquer Scandinavia.

Weren't Great Britain's Arctic Islands separate of Canada for some time? I don't think the British have a reputation for selling land, but perhaps in an era when Europe was heading for a Great War, the British sell the Russians the Islands as a token of good will?

This will add a very new interesting angle to the Russian Civil War if it occurs.

In addition, perhaps the Russian's could have also partitioned N.W Territories with Canada, and few bits of Rupert's land for a straight border (This would be needed if we are strictly going for the entire Arctic Circle being Russian).

Greenland could also be taken if Germany bullies Denmark into joining the losing side of World War I equivalent.

Well.....I do have one solution: Perhaps Russia could somehow purchase the Arctic Islands and Greenland from Britain and Denmark? That, and perhaps the annexation of Svalbard would basically give Russia total dominance over that whole ocean, even if the U.S. does keep all of Alaska.

Albert Einstein invents a time machine, goes back to the 1930s, and kills Hitler.

Stalin becomes the new threat, the Soviets overrun Europe. Through the gallant efforts of the other Allied states, freedom pushes back and the Soviets are defeated.

A few decades later, the Soviets try again. Through a mix of industrial might and the strange psychotechnology invented by a mysterious man known only as Yuri, they quickly defeat the USA in a suprise attack. Europe and Canada meekly give in and the Soviets redraw the borders as they see fit. Among the changes are the inclusion of all lands north of the Arctic Circle into the RSFSR.
