AHC: Roosevelt/Roosevelt Ticket

So this thread got me thinking: https://www.alternatehistory.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=191638

Create a TR/FDR ticket for any party you deem most plausible and in any election you deem most likely.

Not sure it could work, but that's why it's a challenge. Not sure Roosevelt vs. Roosevelt is possible either but it got some good responses.

Bonus points awarded, of course, if TR/FDR wins.

Go.

(They can also remain in differing respective political parties but the ticket has to be, obviously, for one party.)

Woodrow Wilson loses to Hughes in 1916, putting the Progressives back with the GOP. FDR becomes a liberal Republican around this time.

Meanwhile, Teddy survives malaria and gets elected in 1924, with FDR as his VP. To avoid losing NY's electoral votes, FDR switches to Maryland as his home state while still being Secretary of the Navy.

Well... that just about wraps it up. Thank you.

Hahaha! That was actually really good. A TL on this should be done one day. I can see quite a few butterflies...

FDR was 38 in 1920- Which was the 1st election He was eligible for President.
So the trick is keeping TR alive till then. [or later]

As people switching parties and states is something thats easy enough to do I'll leave that issue aside to bring up another point.

They didn't get along personally. Specifically TR really didn't like Franklin even after his niece married him, so you've got an issue with that. Teddy Roosevelt isn't the kind of man to accept a VP he doesn't think he can develop a good working relationship with.
