What would it take for RKO Radio Pictures to survive the 1950's and still be a major Hollywood studio in the present?
Not having Howard Hughes by RKO would be a great start
The HUAC era and blacklisting took a lot of the joy out of the picture biz, and Odium sold his way out. It meant the end of enlightened management and a lot of talent. The big profits slump of '48 didn't help either.
