AHC: Revive Coptic language

Is there any possibility that with say a POD in the 1500s and after (when the Copts as an ethnic group supposedly lost their plurality) that would allow a revival of the Coptic language among Egyptian Christians? Bonus points if it becomes the predominant language of all Egyptians.

Having sort of Hebrew-like revival maybe?
It would probably necessit some Coptic diaspora for using Coptic lanuage as a communication mean?

POD in 1500. Alternate Reformation. A century later, a crusade against the Ottomans leads to Christian occupation of Egypt. A Kingdom of the Copts is set up.

It was a liturgical language by then. Coptic-Arab diglossia by the 9/10th c., loss of living language probably by the 12 c. latest.

Catalina's completely right, the best model to look at is Hebrew.

So perhaps something along the lines of a Coptic Christian coming to power in the 20th Century, and attempting to create an alternate identity for Egypt through the use of Coptic?

A Nazi Egypt might support the Copts against the Muslims.

After the Nazis' fall there could be both an Israel reviving Hebrew and a secular Egypt dominated by Copts and Christians reviving Coptic. It's far-fetched, though.
