AHC: Reverse Stereotypes

Here is another one that would be interesting to see:

OTL the stereotype exists that East Asian people (Mongols, Chinese, Koreans, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc.) are very raceist and hateful, especially towards East Asians outside their own ethnicity/nationality.

So how can you reverse that and have East Asians seen as least raceist people on the planet who view their fellow East Asians as brothers regardless of nationality?

Surviving Ottoman Empire --> possibly less Islamic terrorism.
No Temple massacre in Guyana --> possibly more atheist terrorism.
Troubles do not end in Ulster --> more Irish Catholic terrorism.

An outward-looking Chinese power that does not colonize its neighbors but keeps them under a tribute system AND prevents European colonialism from taking over these nations AND acts as an effective (or at least perceived effective) peacekeeper.

I don't know enough about China to give the particulars about how it would accomplish this (it would have to get very, very lucky) but I think in this scenario you could get a sense of East Asian brotherhood.

The reputation of British cuisine is also the affect of the Wars, the rationing and lack of supplies, and the food created in the slum parts of London over the 19th and 20th centuries.

British cuisine is considered bad because Britain industrialised and urbanised before refrigeration, meaning all our food had to be preserved for the working man by making it jellied or in a pie.

Here is another stereotype-flip challenge:

Can you think of a way to have the stereotypical western view of Islam as a “Religion of Peace”, living in harmony with non-believers and very tolerant to other faith while conversely Buddhists are seen as wild-eyed fanatics ready to kill at the drop of a hat anyone opposed to or not accepting the teachings of Buddha?

Bonus points if as a consequence there is a 20th century Islamic-inspired New Age/Hippie movement in the western world.

Have you been reading about Burma there? They're on the brink of a genocide by wild-eyed fanatical Buddhists against the humble Muslim population. It's nasty, nasty stuff, yet the media go on about the royal bloody baby.

*Goes a Googles "Burma Buddhist Extremists"* . . . 15 minutes later . . . WHAT THE FUCK! NOT THE BUDDHISTS TOO! CAN'T THEY LEAVE THIS KIND OF VIOLENT BIGOTED SHIT THE USE WHITE PEOPLE!

Also to add to the thread how about this reverse stereotype:

Native Americans are an objective bunch unsentimental towards their past and feel extremely at home in areas with growing industry.

Well on the bonus you could totally manage that with really any spiritualist sect of a major religion/spiritualist major religion. I mean off the top of my head Sufism could easily fulfill the same role Budhism did for New Agey types.

Jews helped create the modern American mafia with Italians. Just have Bugsy Siegel create a legit "family" or something.

The complete lack of context tells me this is the wrong thread. Although I will say that kinda misses the point of a Mafia family. I mean a legit family is just any other family run business that may or may not do well.

As far as I know, Brits tend to have clean but crooked teeth (because if you get the cleaning for free you might not bother paying extra to get braces). Everyone in the States shells out for retainers for their kids, so people notice the contrast.

This. In the US the vast majority of children get braces. I never had braces and my teeth are quite crooked (though, as I would like to think, in an endearing rather than ugly way :D) and it contrasts quite strikingly with other Americans.
