Staline invading Finland and installing a puppet communist state would be one way.
I don't see how Finland as a puppet state before 1953 means:
a) That the Soviet Union survives past 1989 to 2012 in a condition to force Finland to maintain a non-hostile government formally or broadly aligned with Soviet interests
b) That Finland remains Stalinist,* or deteriorates into a kind of Finnish Juche ("riippumaton teline"*) by 2012, rather than moving towards a Socialist Humanism in 1956 or 1968, or towards a Brezhnevian eternal decline
c) That in 2012 a Stalinist state would be last on an index of press freedom, even the Juche state of North Korea is only second last.

*Speculations about Hoxhaist Finland wins points.
*Points also for rippumaton teline, etc.
