I mean, the Almoravid Dynasty of Morocco owned a pretty handsome amount of the Iberia peninsula. Assuming they could keep a grip over some amount of the peninsula (most probably through devolution), it's possible that an Africa Iberia could emerge, especially if the native populations intermarry with wealthy Africans. That may not count but would be incredibly interesting regardless.

Berber dynasty based in the Maghreb has successful takeover of Iberia or Italy.

Southern Roman Empire forms and survives into the present, it rules most of Spain and Portugal (and Southern Italy).

No Banu Hilal and no droughts in the Maghreb. This could lead to a berber dynasty with a strong economy based on agriculture and mining that could keep Iberia. Also later, instead of conquering the Sahel Sultanates they could form an alliance with them and keep any europeans out of the west african coast.
