After the last southern Ming emperor was captured in Burma, can you twist history to restore the last Han dynasty?

I always thought two varieties were interesting:
- As ramones said, a rump state in Yunnan-Guizhou. Very defensible, if there are more warlords who want clay they can go deeper into Burma or Thailand.
- A surviving Ming state that spreads from Ryukyu to the northern Philippines. Focusing on building a country instead of constantly trying to reinvade one may help.
I highly doubt the 'loyalist' state in Taiwan could be a surviving Ming state.I have always imagined that the Ming Emperors would be little more than puppets under the Zhengs. They had a Ming prince in Taiwan for example, but they never proclaimed him emperor.
If they invested more in state-building on Formosa I'm sure the Zhengs would have the capacity to install the Ming emperors as puppets and continue ruling on.
