AHC: Renewable powered British/French Empire

It's not a nice possibility, but slaves are renewable, so you can have more work done with raw manpower, which would be enough for small-scale industry if food is cheap enough.

Not really--IOTL the American South was the only slave society that saw slave populations remain stable or grow due to reproduction rather than further enslavement, and the causes of that are pretty much tied to a set of unusual factors in that region (climate, ban on imports and enslavement, etc.)

Thanks! Noted points! Coal and Oil would have no place or little place in my timeline. At least, after the first round of the Industrial revolution. I will plan the timeline pathway accordingly.

Without a coal there would be no industrial revolution.

Of course, you can always try to build a civilization based upon the "nomadic model": use the dried animal <you know what> as a fuel. It is definitely renewable (as long as you have domestic animals). :winkytongue:

Well, the serfs in Russia also were renewable and they even grew in numbers. An additional bonus is that they were using wood, not coal or oil. :winkytongue:
