AHC: Reduce the Number of Nations In The Globe Under 90

What about a TL where a few of these supranational unions from OTL unify to become nations instead?

Your goal is get the number of nations under 90. As of right now there are over 195.

Perhaps no WWI leaves Europe, the Ottoman Empire (though probably without Egypt and Sudan), and most of prewar Russia intact. Later, Serbia and Montenegro merge and the Scandinavian countries federate.

Perhaps as a result of this, you have a longer-lasting colonialism and greater pressure to federate or integrate with the colonial power. So perhaps some sort of loose "Imperial Federation" emerges consisting the UK (and Ireland), plus Canada, NZ, Australia, S. Africa, and the British West Indies. No partition of India (including Burma), a union of Indochinese states, and more lasting federations in Africa, particularly of the French colonies.

Hardest then is to have some of Latin America consolidate, and I can't think of a plausible progression from the above to united South and Central Americas or even just greater consolidation (i.e. Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia). Haven't done a full count as to what that would produce, but

For starters, keep Korea unified, and Brazil retains Uruguay. Venezuela can absorb the Guyanas and Suriname. Several large Caliphates/Sultanates in Western Africa. No independent Outer Mongolia. French Indochina is forcibly kept 1 state. Central Asia- do what you want. Don't OTL balkanize Yugoslavia. Keep Czechoslovakia united, and Belarus + Ukraine stay in Russia. After that, who knows?

A modest application of good, old fashioned, imperialism would do the trick quite nicely. Restore just part of the British and French empires in Africa and the Pacific, and you are almost there. Then recreate an abbreviated Ottoman empire in the middle east and a Russian empire in the old Soviet Union minus the Baltics and you are set. No sweat.

Have the Europeans set up artificial states across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East far worse than OTL. That's a start.

Probably would do well by just having the British, Dutch, and Americans keep all their possessions the Caribbean and Pacific. Also unify India, Bhutan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Maldives, Nepal, Myanmar, and perhaps Suriname and Guyana.

How many African tribes who really hate each other could be combined in one nation?
Remember that most of the post-colonial wars in Africa were just old tribal feuds backed by NATO nations or the Warsaw Pact or China.
