AHC: Pyrrhus of Epirus Unites Greece, Epirus, and Macedon

Pyrrhus of Epirus is simultaneously considered one of the greatest military minds of the ancient world, and one of the most reckless and (some would argue) idiotic generals of the Hellenic world. After retreating from Italy and his wars will Rome and Carthage, he sought the throne of Macedon, which led to a bloody war throughout Greece and Macedon, culminating in a the Battle of Argos, where he was killed and beheaded fighting in the crowded city streets.

So, is it possible for the man to take the throne of Macedonia, and to possibly unify Greece during this war? Could it have ended differently, and with an Epirote victory?

Perhaps, if Pyrrhus was less of a scatterbrain, and more singlemindedly pursued important goals, he might. He was in a pretty good position. (Depends on whether Greek cities in Southern Italy and Sicily count for "Greece" in this situation)

actually, i believe he did take the throne of macedonia at one point (285-284 BC), ruling jointly with Lysimachus. Have Lysimachus kick the bucket at that point, and Pyrrhus might well maneuver himself into taking over Lysimachus' realm.

Alternatively, have him accept the throne of Macedon in 278 BC following the death of its King Ceraunus and the invasion of Celts, instead of going for Sicily.

Or, have him accept the Sicilian offer and successfully take Lylibaeum. This should secure his position in Sicily and kick out Carthage for good, giving him a good basis for future conquests.

Or, have him kill Antigonos Gonatas, making his re-taking of the Macedonian throne in 270-ish a lot more secure.

Or, just settle down having taken Macedon and avoid getting killed (this means no playing around in Sparta, Argos etc)

Or, (this is the hardest part) crush Sparta and the other greek polis in long, drawn-out campaigns (not getting killed in the process), all the while making sure his son has a secure succession. Even if he does this however, like OTL showed us, it's very hard for a Macedon-based kingdom to constantly keep those cities subdued.
