The challenge is to see a pulse jet engine, like the one on the V1, powering an operational fighter during the war. Obviously, this set-up has some disadvantages. The first one that srpings to mind is that the plane likely couldn't take off under its own power, and would require a capapult, a tow, or rocket assist. But there are advantages, too. The engines are incredibly cheap to build (estimated at $600 USD in the 40s), and require only wood and steel, no strategic materials. They can also burn just about any grade of petrol, even grades far too low to run a car or piston airplane engine.
Needless to say, I want it to be a real fighter, and not a Nazi suicide bomber.
