How about a PBS nice guys double whammy...
Bear with me, we'll get to Bob, but we're starting a bit earlier. Our PoD happens around June 1927, when Nancy Rodgers conceives her only son Fred. IOTL, he recieves a faulty red-green colorblindness gene. ITTL, he doesn't. Next, his grandfather and namesake slips and falls on an icy patch on a sidewalk, hits his head, and dies shortly before Fred is born. Instead of the nice music loving grandfather, young Fred's big influence in his childhood is a neighbor, a navy veteran who fills his head with tales of military exploits
Instead of going off to college in 1946, Fred joins the navy at the tail end of WWII. In 1950, he joins the expanded UDT teams and sees action in Korea. He is sent to OSC and in 1962 is commissioned as an ensign. The following year he joins SEAL Team One. He sees three deployments to Vietnam, in 1966, 68, and 70. More on the last deployment later...
Meanwhile, Bob Ross, instead of joining the USAF in 1961, instead attends college. In 1964, he joins the USMC and be becomes a USMC aviator. (Call it a butterfly from the above changes.

) In 1967, he is shot down over North Vietnam, is captured, and ends up at Hỏa Lò Prison.
In 1970, following a successful Operatoon Ivory Tower rescue, Lt. Cmdr. Rodgers leads Operation Thundercloud (OTL's Thunderhead), an even more daring raid on Hỏa Lò Prison, freeing Lt. Ross among others.
In 1973, Ross leaves the Marines and returns to Florida. In 1974 he runs for and is elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Florida's*6th*district as a Democrat, defeating Bill Young. In 1980 he ran for Senate and won.
In 1979, during the Iran hostage crisis, President Carter calls on Cptn. Rodgers experience and placeshim in charge of the rescue mission. In the wake of the success, Carter wins reelection.
In 1984, George Bush wins the presidency, defeating Walter Mondale. He wins reelection in 1988.
In 1992, Senator Ross runs for the presidency. He picks recently retired Admr Rodgers for VP. He is diagnosed with*lymphoma in 1995 and does not run for a second term. In 1996, Fred Rodgers is elected president.
So there we go - Bob Ross and Fred Rodgers both as president, with an added bonus of making the urban legend about Mr. Rodgers being a Vietnam era Navy AEAL true.
