It appears that he really wanted to remain involved in baseball and attempted to get a manager position after his retirement in 1935. To be honest, I am not sure how you will be able to get him to stop pursuing his goal of becoming a manager. However, if he were to get involved in politics somehow then his lifestyle would hurt his prospects. He was known to consume a lot of alcohol and to be a womanizer.
