AHC: President Andrew Jackson - Federalist

As it says above. How would/could you make Andrew Jackson into a Federalist candidate for President, or an ardent supporter of Federalist doctrine.?

The John Laurens lives TL by GreatScottMarty provides a possible way since in that TL, Laurens which is an unknown Revolutionary War colonel that died in 1782, didn't die and as a friend of Hamilton, lead the way towards an early manumission, early Civil War and Federalist hegemony at 1800's. He even became President. In TTL, Andrew Jackson is a Federalist due to the influence of Laurens on him when he was young and studying law in South Carolina after the war. Laurens is a South Carolinian too and he sponsored Jackson. So that's why. That TL stalled already though.

I don't see a Federalist Jackson as a presidential candidate of a united hegemonic Federalist Party but I see him adopting Federalist doctrines on internal improvements, early version of agricultural subsidies and adding up Jeffersonian values and anti-Britishness into it. In a defeated Democratic-Republican Party, he would most likely revive the party's values and lead his group of Federalists to merge with the remnant Jeffersonians forming a Democratic Federalist Party of sorts.
