Your challenge if you choose to accept it, is to create a scenario in which the president and vice president in an election are from the same state and that they win. Remember, the Constitution does not bar this from happening, it only prevents a states electors from voting for two candidates from their state.
With that in mind, it would seem that the most likely scenario is a ticket in which the candidates are confident they will not win their home state. The other possibility is a ticket where they do not think the vice presidential candidate losing the home state would influence the election (so a Perry/Cruz ticket would be bad, given how many electors texas has). So, small states or state that vote against those candidates' party often.
My suggestion is a Romney/Brown 2012 ticket, since their shot at winning MA is nonexistant.
