AHC: Pope Cesare Borgia

Your challenge, should anyone chose to accept, is to have Cesare Borgia remain a Cardinal and be elected Pope. Bonus points for him succeeding his father,Pope Alexander VI.

Have Cesare see the Papacy as a way of gaining power over Italy, and he kills enough people to have him elected Pope.

An earlier death of Ezio Auditore da Firenze may help.

Sorry, obligatory Assassin's Creed joke.

Its fine:D.

Actually I was thinking of having his brother, Juan Borgia, not be assassinated in 1497. His death is the main reason Alexander VI allowed Cesare to resign in the first place. If he lives Cesare would almost certainly remain a Cardinal. Also, by the time of Alexander VI's death in 1503, over 60% of the Collage of Cardinals were Borgia appointees, so its very possible for him to succeed Alexander. The only real reasons I can see from him not to be elected is his age (24) and that fact that it would be another Borgia.
