AHC: Polish Hussars in America

With any POD, get Polish Hussars charging down British-American colonials in America :D

Or to be more serious, get a Polish presence in the Americas under the control of Poland or the PLC.

EDIT: But the first statement still stands.

So the British hiring Polish mercenaries instead of Hessians won't cut it?

But there were no Winged Hussars were there :D.

I'll like to see a US tradition of tanks having feathers on the back while they drive into battle.

While I love Polish Hussars, at the time of ARW they were hoplessly obsolete. They were obsolete already at the beginning of XVIIIth century, when infantry's rate of fire started growing. Not to mention they were very expensive. In 1775 all hussars units were transormed into so called national cavalry.
But Poles did have their effect on American Army. IIRC Pulaski was called the father of American cavalry.

In 1601 Godunov accepts the Sapieha proposal and becomes a king of the united Polish-Lithuanian-Russian union ( Unia Troista ).
In OTL russians with under 10 million population reach the Passific coast by 1640es, and Alaska in 1780es, and reach for Hawaii and California in 1810es.
In TTL the nearly tripled resources of this Polish-Baltic-Russian ( cossack! or "ruthenian" ) empire accelerate and amplify this "drang nach Ost" several times: Pasific in 1640es again, but Alaska, Hawaii and California in 1680es. Alaskan and Californian gold discovered in early 1700es. Imagine PLR's Eskimo "cossacks" expanding into Ruppert's land ( Why not all of Polynesia, New Zealand and Australia, too - by 1750es... Patagonia and Antarctica... early 1800es ). In the beginning of 19th century the clash-splash of the westward ( polish-russian ) and eastward ( brit-french )expansion waves across N.America shall be inevitable.

I don't think any Russia clone is going to be expanding THAT quickly across the sea and into the New World, or be able to hold it very well. the infrastructure of Asian Russia OTL was lacking enough, and that was with a more reasonable rate of expansion. And "Russia" holding Australia is not really going to work, I'm sorry. European Russia has a LONG trip to get to Australia, and Eastern Russia has few ports that don't freeze in winter.
