AHC: Poland, Lithunia and Hungary as parts of Germany

If Lithunia, Hungary(but loses Transylvania unites with Wallachia and Moldova) and Poland joins Germany when Germany was united what would be the consequence for the German Empire?

Um, how does Germany attach to itself vast chunks of the Russian and Austro-Hungarian empires?

They can annex Austria-Hungary I guess. Doing this and fighting Russia and keeping the other powers from trying to prevent all that...is hard.

Having a POD where a Hapsburg is crowned Kaiser of Germany & King of Hungary is more doable IMHO. Whilst leaving out land belonging to another great power.

The difficult parts of it center around two things: First, that the Russian Empire might not take kindly to the Prussians taking over its share of Poland, nor will the Austro-Hungarians like the idea of Prussia becoming expansionist against them.

Second, Bismarck wanted only the unification of non-Austrian Germans under Prussian rule, not a Hitler-esque expansion campaign. There was a time when Denmark asked to join the German Empire, but, as they were not Germans, Bismarck turned them down.

This is what stands in the way of Prussian conquest of these areas.

So, you need to replace Bismarck with someone who is just as competent while also having an expansion fetish that rivals Hitler's.

:eek::eek: i never heard of that , were do i find information about it ?

Well, I first read it in the "Funny Comic Strip" Thread in NPC, but it seems I had a few facts wrong. In the words of the guy I'm quoting:

Yes we have discussed it earlier, the king at the time offered to join the German Confederation against keeping Schleswig-Holstein. Bismarck saw that it would only be trouble, and would mean that Prussia couldn't get Schleswig-Holstein later.

So, the German Confederation, not the Empire, but yes, Bismarck was against it. Seems I got my facts wrong here.
