March 1, 2017: Uneasiness is abound all across America. President Donald Trump is being accused of institutionalizing racism by attempting to form a special government agency to investigate crimes committed by immigrants. Congress is setting sail on repealing Obamacare. The Russia accusations are heating up, as it is revealed the FBI wanted to pay Chris Steele for the dossier. Tensions are running high, as North Korea has commenced to testing missiles again. Pressure is mounting on each and every one...
At roughly 4 PM that afternoon, Missouri senator Roy Blunt is gunned down outside of the Capitol building by an unknown assailant. A regional manhunt commences for the person who shot down Senator Blunt. For four days, nothing is known. Rumors begin flying that this was an act of terror committed by the Russians, but they vehemently deny this. Then, on March 5, a message comes through to Senator Blunt's office telephone. In a masked voice, the caller says:
"Hello, Senator Blunt. This is Richard *static takes over last name*. I am the leader of a group called Peregrinus Infallibili. The name translates to Infallible Crusaders. You see, we know what you do on Capitol Hill. We've all seen it for years. We've wrote you. We've called you, bawling, pleading for change. We've marched peacefully, and we have marched with violence. And try as we might, cards, letters, telephone calls & marches just doesn't seem to cut it with you people. So maybe, if we started cutting some of you down, it'll make you change, for God only knows all else has failed. We are nationwide and we are fearless. We are going to straighten you out once and for all. An eye for an eye is only fair, as decades of poor, boorish decisions from you has put on a human price tag on that is only payable through your skin. Be very aware that we cannot nor will not put up with your tragic, harmful & inane decisions any longer. We are coming for you, and we will not stop until you realize what you've done to us. Your reign is over after 240 years. Be weary. Ciao."
Phone records are throughly combed through once, twice, three times, but no trace of the caller seems to be found. It isn't believed he contacted Blunt's office through a cheaper "burner" phone, purchased at a convenience store. The manhunt continues, and two weeks to the day after the Richard character called, four more are gunned down outside a church in Washington, D.C. These turn out to be Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn of Texas and his wife Sandy, and Idaho senator Mike Crapo and his wife Susan. Peregrinus Infallibili claims responsibility yet again. The manhunt turns nationally, and one day later, an anonymous fax is sent to an unnamed person in the White House that simply says:
"Do not even waste your time. We are everywhere. But you would never know the difference. That is why we are winning. Peace."
The violence quells, but only for a short time. On April 1, Florida governor Rick Scott is found brutally slain inside the Governor's Mansion in Tallahassee. Investigators believe that there was more than one individual responsible for the slaying. One day later, New Jersey governor Chris Christie is wounded in a drive-by shooting in Atlantic City as he was preparing to give a speech. Peregrinus Infallibili again claims responbility, as frustration mounts over the lack of convictions in this heinous killing spree.
