How can you get Japan to become communist and China to become fascist before WW2 and keep them in that position during WW2? How much would change in WW2? What would the Second Sino-Japanese War look like, if there is one? How long would Communist Japan last? Discuss.

I'm not talking about divided Japan btw. I'm meaning fully communist Japan.

Although I think they oversimplify, https://www.alternatehistory.com/forum/threads/was-the-kuomitang-fascist.412384/#post-14437481 a lot of people consider Chiang Kai-shek a fascist in OTL. The real problem is getting a Communist Japan, where the Communists were never strong to begin with and were subject to ruthless police suppression--even in the relatively "liberal" 1920's.
Hmmm... how about a Japanese Mladorossi? Maybe an Emperor reads the work of Karl Marx and/or Lenin's speeches and ideas? Through this, he becomes a communist and uses his position as an Emperor to an advantage. Maybe over time he appoints more leftist ministers into his cabinet until finally appointing communists and possibly even a communist prime minister? You'd get a lot of people who will oppose this, but the status of the Emperor means that there probably won't be much that they could do.
I'm just reaching here, of course.

Another possibility for a Fascist China could be the Beiyang Government surviving and drifting rightward. I think the seeds for Communist Japan could be planted during the Great Depression. Just have the USSR meddle in Japanese Affairs to have the military embrace Communism rather than Fascism.

The Second Sino-Japanese War would be strange in ATL. If the USSR did meddle in Japanese Affairs and turn Japan Communist, then it could set the stage for a Soviet-Japanese Alliance, despite Soviet desire for revenge for the Russo-Japanese War. The USSR and Japan probably invade Fascist China at the same time, with the Soviets slicing off Manchuria and Xinjiang for themselves, whereas Japan eyes South China. If there is still a Pacific War, then perhaps the Soviets intercede diplomatically to keep Communist Japan as a buffer against the Anglo-Americans. Of course this would all butterfly Japan joining the Axis to begin with (China joins instead) and the need to attack the Allies.
