AHC: Paulson's Stops the Crash

Ok, so here's the challenge. After watching most of Too Big to Fail, I've been wondering if there was some way for Hank Paulson to prevent the collapse of Lehman Brothers and the financial markets. I hope to get to reading Sorkin's book, but until then I was wondering what Paulson or maybe Dick Fuld could have done to save the markets. Fire the bazooka?

And before people jump all over me, I do realize that the deregulation and housing bubble were the root causes of the recession, but I'm asking whether the extent of the crisis could have been averted.

Frankly, with regulators spending their time at work downloading pornography, I doubt that deregulation was the underlying problem per se.
