AHC:North America "striped" the other way.

North America iOTL has three large countries, North, Center and South. With a POD of 1700, is it reasonable to get it "striped" the other way, with three large countries, East, Center and West.

Country East should include at least OTL Miami, Richmond, Buffalo and Montreal as well as all or most points within 200 Miles of the Atlantic Ocean. (Not counting the Gulf of Mexico)

Country Center should include Houston, Omaha, Winnipeg and have a border on the Arctic Ocean.

Country West should include OTL Mexico City, San Francisco and Vancouver as well as all or most points within 200 miles of the Pacific Ocean north of Acapulco and South of the Southern tip of OTL Alaska.

Alaska doesn't have to fit within the Country west stripe, it could remain Russian, be part of one of the other north American countries or something else...

Well the obvious one would be British North America and Canada, including Quebec as the east most stripe. Expanding down to Florida, and Britain might then delegate the adminstration of their Caribbean colonies to it as well.

Then blocked from further western expansion by a French or Spanish, Louisiana. Plus either Spain retaining parts of it's Mexican colony, with it combining with this colony. Or the French successfully intervene wth Mexico, with a associated protectorate. For the Arctic Ocean, Britain would have to lose or need to horse trade, with Ruperts Land fur trade sold off.

Then another colonising power Takes the west, starting in California, and controlling the sea board. Maybe Spain if France takes the centre. Or Britain creating a seperate colony.
