A straightforward one. Your challenge is to prevent the Spanish-American War of OTL from happening, at any cost.
Spain decides discretion is the better part of valor and either gives Cuba its independence or sells it to the US. Of all of the US wars this is probably the easiest one to avoid.
Of course all bets are off if Germany tries to seize the overseas possessions of the failing Spanish Empire like they considered in OTL. That would be an interesting timeline.

If the Philippines had still been Spanish under Franco, would Japan have attacked them?
Had that happened, the Philippines may have ended up either British or Japanese after WW1. It would be interesting to see how the latter would have been.
Very interesting indeed. I'll need to look into it, but maybe I'll make a TL about it. It basically solved the "place in the sun" thing the Kaiser had going on.

So no Japanese involvement in WW2?They might not have needed to. Spain under Franco would have been willing to trade with Japan. Part of the reason that Japan struck south was that the US blocked oil and scrap imports to the Empire. If Spain still controls their colonies Japan might be able to get the resources they need through trade.
Therefore no Pearl Harbough to bomb. Also a possiblity that the US does not annex the "Republic of Hawaii" (where the majority of the population could not vote) because that was not really a popular cause in the US or in Congress and it only passed due to the S-A war and Hawaii's potential military use.
