How does one prevent the Saudis from defeating the Hashemites? Would Arabia today be a Hashemite kingdom or a republic, and would it include any territory besides OTL Saudi Arabia?

I think that easiest way migh be surviving Ottoman Empire. Another could be that western powers decide on some reason help Hashemites.
