That the reason Chile Declared the War to Japan the 11 of April 1945 was the last country on declare war, the chronology is as follow

22 May 1942
Mexico
Brasil

7 April 1943
Bolivia

26 November 1943
Colombia

February 1945
Ecuador
Paraguay
Peru
Uruguay
Venezuela

March 1945
Argentina

April
Chile (only japan)

As you could see most south amercia only declare war after 1945, I don´t count Centro america, most countries declare war at the same time that EE.UU. as they were the facto colonies

It depends when they enter WW2 if it would be a game changer. I was surprised Turkey wasn't on the list but they declared war on Germany in 1945, and there were other countries that made late entries into the war.

If anyone is properly able to come up with a way Switzerland will issue a declaration of war without being attacked themselves i'll eat my hat.

God this won't end well for the Irish under De Valera. Have Churchill seize the Treaty Ports to shorten the North Atlantic Convoy run...

Churchill might have thought of it a few times, but the adults in the War Cabinet always talked him down due to the combination of the issues, and the state of the Ports themselves, now if the impossible Sea Mammal happened we would have joined the war but that's "unlikely".

Or we could live in a happier universe where De Valera got shot and Michael Collins was leader, though I have no factual basis for believing him more likely to join the allies early - its just a gut feeling.

It's a well worn POD, but who knows, I'd expect something of a more flexible relationship with the UK, though NI might be a hotter topic.

Although, so the story goes, when he met James Craig they got on like a house on fire so maybe NI is less explosive. Also under Collins Ireland is less likely to be maintained as a parody of itself to satisfy de Valera's vision for the country so perhaps the Unionists are less hostile.

It was probably much more useful to the allies to have the major neutrals remain "officially" neutral, providing safe havens for allied airmen and potential escapees and performing other functions openly belligerent nations couldn't. Sweden proved invaluable in supporting allied intelligence efforts, as a staging ground for Norwegian resistance and safe haven for the Jews fleeing Denmark. Spain and Portugal were a big part of the escapee "underground railroad." And Switzerland (Swiss Red Cross) was the only entity that could provide any support/assistance/oversight into axis POW camps or serve as the diplomatic go between for any peace negotiations. As for the minor neutrals..it didn't matter much either way.

France fights on in 1940
Germany offers enormous rewards for Spain to join in late June 40, part of French loot, Morocco, half of Algeria, even Senegal, part of Soviet grain and oils shipments. Spain Declares War on France and Britain.
Andorra nominally declares war as well on Britain (only).

Portugal invaded by Spain and Germany later.

With Spanish forward bases for Air and Uboat, Atlantic shipping losses high, Ireland hand is forced by British Invasion to DOW on one side or another.

Sweden or Switzerland seem unlikely, Sweeden maybe in some end game scenario to help liberate Denmark or Norway from Nazi holdouts. (but would there be a DOW?)

Switzerland only in some Nazi victory time line where they are just reordering Europe and you better comply.

The others really are random.

what could Sweden contribute to Axis side that they did not (under certain duress) contribute anyway? (btw a serious not argumentative question)

Actual Sweedish combat divisions on the eastern front. (or a blue division style volunteer division)
Cutting diplomatic relations with Soviets.

I think Micheal Collins would take a much more aggressive attitude than Dev.
