AHC: No Agricultural Revolution

History starts with writing, but what happened before that? About 1200 years, ago, the agricultural revolution took place. I want you to think about what the world would be like if the agricultural revolution had never happened.

Agriculture was developped independently in different places at different times. Even if wheat hadn't been domesticated 12000 years ago in the middle east, maize might have still been domesticated in Mesoamerica 8000 years ago, and the same might have happened with East Asian crops. Of course, the world would be quite different, and other cultures and peoples might be dominant.

If agriculture isn't developped anywhere (we must explain why), we'd still be hunter gatherers, unless we can domesticate hervibores and become herders. If not, we'd be living mostly in isolated bands, except in aereas where resources are plentifull, where denser population are achievable and tribal stucturez (or even chiefdoms) can arrise. Areas in the Pacific coasts of the Americas, with plenty of fish, fulfill this criteria.

Don't we like being fed and beer alcohol too much?

Why else the absurd patience here in the Americas over corn - turning it from weed to bounty crop?

Why else did it happen at least several times?
