AHC: neither Churchill nor Halifax in May 1940

Practically everyone here knows of this crucial juncture of history. So many timelines Axis victory timelines in particular have hinged on Halifax becoming PM. But how do you plausibly have someone other than Churchill or Halifax become PM upon the fall of Chamberlain? Who could this person be and what impact could it have?

At the time, the war cabinet consisted of the following:

I really cannot see anyone other than the Big 2 being considered for the job from that selection. There was talk at the time about recalling Lloyd-George, but he was do far gone by then. Leo Amery's name was mentioned (probably by Leo Amery), that might have been fun, considering the later war history of his son John.

Other than that I'm struggling. Has to be a Tory MP, as they were the largest party.

If we are looking outside of the War Cabinet, then Admiral of the Fleet Roger Keyes is a possibility...albeit a long shot.

Anthony Eden and Duff Cooper could be viable options. If you want a more 'out there' choice, Harold Nicolson would be an interesting replacement

He died in 1945. What if he is recalled? What can change in WWII?

A different selection of CIGS & other senior leaders. With possible butterflies for strategy. ie: Sir John Dill was not as committed to a peripheral strategy as Alan-Brooke. There are also claims he had cultivated secret contacts with Petains government, which if true would have implications for a GYMNAST or TORCH type action. Churchill endorsed the full on commitment to bombing Germany & Harris demand for every single heavy bomber. Another PM might be inclined to divert more VLR aircraft production in 1941-42 for the Battle of the Atlantic. Eisenhower went to the top of the list of possible commanders for Op TORCH due to Churchills favor. Eden or Halifax would have others in mind & Ike would spend much of the war as Marshals important projects staffer. Maybe Ike would get a corps or army command in 1944 or 1945. Lots of unpredictable possibilities here.
