AHC: Mussolini more Sucsessful

Make Mussolini and his campaigns more successful, on par with the Germans. How would that change the War in the Mediterranean? Could Egypt fall? Would Hitler not having to intervene in the Balkans work in his favor?

With no pre-war change, the only way will be convince Benny that not only this will be a long war and so start immediately rationing but also that the italian armed forces have clear limitation and can perform only one big campaign at the time and so concentrate all the possible effort in a single place aka Africa (no Greece, at max partecipate at the invasion of Jugoslavia if happen, no ARMIR).
Attempt to conquer Malta from the beginning, maybe it will fail, maybe it will be a disaster like Greece...but if it succeed it will change the Meditterean theatre

Funnily, this is the only one Mussolini did not treat like a walk in the park and the one which could have really been so. Just disembark a few troops there ASAP and it would fall... with really huge dividends for the whole War, too.

they had the daring raids, some successful https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raid_on_Alexandria_(1941)

a wave of those in 1940 and whole perception of Italian Navy would be different, as well the reality of their situation (if more British BBs or carriers had been sunk or disabled)
